I love the design of this pot but there is a flaw… when the pot gets hot you can’t lift the lid up with the part as it gets way too hot

Good quality but disappointed in that are
Not very non-stick.

Good quality saucepan, looks smart, heats up quickly. Handle does get hot after a while so have to accept that you need a glove or towel to lift with, also quite a weighty pan even when empty

Amazing
So heavy and strong
I love it so much I’ve brought the whole set
One thing is that the knob on the lid gets hot, so be careful when lifting the lid
But don’t let that put you off buying because they are amazing
Love the Tom range

Great! Quality. Yes they do suffer minor discolouration in the base of the inside but that is what happens to stainless steel pans! I have the comfort of knowing that when I am cooks my veggies in them, I am not being poisoned. Worth every penny.

This is a strong and well made saucepan. I particularly like the hand grip on the front as I thought it would help me when straining water.
Unfortunately this is a heavy pan and far too heavy for me to use now that I am older. I have used it a couple of times so unfortunately could not return it. Luckily I did have 20% off the price. Also, I was surprised to find a dent on the outside near the base when we unwrapped it.

I recently acquired two TOM KERRIDGE stainless steel saucepans and have been using them for a few weeks before giving this review. They look good finished in brushed stainless steel with solid stainless steel lids – although I would have preferred the pans to have had glass lids with a steam hole, this was not a major deterrent in buying these pans. Wanted for a while to replace my old worn non-stick coated pans with some good quality pans, made without non-stick ‘Forever Chemicals’! The pans warm up quickly, they have a copper layer sandwiched between stainless steel layers (the bottom magnetic stainless steel layer is essential for them to work on an induction hob), which keeps the heat well – especially when used with the lids on, and I have not had any problems with food sticking (recommended not to cook on very high heat) – the pans clean up nicely too, without having to use abrasive scourers. I plan not to wash them in the dishwasher as they do not need it. The 20cm pan is great for making stock, sauces, boiling pasta, potatoes, etc. and has a useful ‘helper handle’ for lifting the pan when heavy, great in case you have weak wrists. I also got the small 14cm pan which is ideal for warming up milk, tinned soups, sauces, baked beans, etc, and is a great size for boiling eggs. It works well on my Induction Hob – not too small in diameter. Very pleased with my purchases (although these were ‘purchased’ with an M&S Christmas Gift Card). Considering whether to add the 16cm or 18cm pans to my collection next. They are not cheap, but worth it for the quality, so perhaps next year’s Christmas gift??
Regarding the issue some other customers complained about, with the steel pan lid knobs getting very hot during use, that is true. However, I found a simple fix which works for me (which I think should not be a problem for the manufacturer to implement too during manufacture?). Just unscrew the lid knobs, place a rubber tap washer over the screw protruding from the lid, then screw the knob back on. The washer is not noticeable and creates a bit of a heat barrier between the metal surfaces of the lid and the knob, reducing the transfer of heat. I have found the knobs are not getting too hot now. In case they still get too warm to touch, no problem, just use fabric pot holders, as you would normally do when cooking.

I was gutted to have to buy new pans because my old faithfuls didn’t work on my induction hob. Trying to find a set that was afordable, likely to last as long as my old ones (35 years!) didn’t have glass lids (which I was bound to drop and break) and didn’t have plastic knobs/handles (which in my experience don’t stand up well to constant dishwasher action) was proving almost impossible. I’d initially dismissed the Tom Kerridge ones on the basis that it said ‘do not put in dishwasher’
But I couldnt find a better set and decided to bite the bullet. I’ve purchased 4 sizes of saucepan.
They’re great. Nice weight but not too heavy. Yes, the knob on the lids gets hot after a while, but that’s physics for you, and I’m used to using an oven cloth.
And of COURSE I put them in the dishwasher, to no noticeable ill-effects!
